PACT MATTERS is a specialized consulting and education firm dedicated to transforming ophthalmic practices through Lean Six Sigma methodology. Founded by Michelle Parker, COMT — a certified ophthalmic medical technologist and Lean Six Sigma Master Black Belt — the company was built on a singular belief: that the tools used to improve manufacturing and surgical settings can, and should, be applied to eye care.
This Knowledge Center is the educational arm of PACT MATTERS. It exists to give ophthalmology professionals — whether they are new technicians just starting out, seasoned practice administrators seeking continuous improvement, or executive clinicians leading organizational change — the books, courses, and certification programs they need to do their best work.
Our curriculum covers everything from foundational Lean concepts and Standard Works clinical competency guides, to advanced Lean Six Sigma certification programs such as the COLSSP (Certified Ophthalmic Lean Six Sigma Professional) and CALLP (Certified Advanced Lean Leadership Professional). Meet the Founder
Matthew Parker

Founder & Principal Consultant, PACT MATTERS
Matthew Parker is one of the foremost experts in Lean Six Sigma applied to ophthalmic healthcare. A Certified Ophthalmic Medical Technologist (COMT) and Lean Six Sigma Master Black Belt (CLSSMBB), Matthew holds doctoral degrees in both applied science and leadership, and has spent over 30 years inside eye care organizations — not as an outside consultant, but as a practitioner, trainer, and operational leader.
He created the PACT Framework and the COLSSP certification — the only Lean Six Sigma credential built exclusively for the ophthalmic environment — and has trained hundreds of technicians, administrators, and physician leaders across the United States.
His books, courses, and clinical programs are used in ophthalmology practices ranging from single-surgeon offices to multi-site academic medical centers.
